I like the detail in the clouds that this effect bring out in the images. HDR gives the images more depth.

Chapter 3: Influential Self Reflective Thematic
My passion project is about black and white images. I included some HDRs because i find them intriguing. All of the images show a theme of black and white (except the middle one) and contrast.

LG Photo Contest 2015
Boardwalk on the marshes at Alviso Marina County Park. In photoshop, I raised the contrast and decreased the brightness of the sky, as well as cropped the image.

Chapter 2: Creative
Halloween themed photo. I took this photo in front of a dark background then burned the area around Dylan's face to make is black. I then used the paintbrush tool to pain his eyes.

Portraits Final
Rough Draft:
Contact Sheet:
Final:
The biggest thing that has
ever happened to me was getting a visa in the mail to be able to come to the
US.
My earliest childhood
memory is my brother chasing me around the kitchen table with a butcher knife
trying to kill me.
My biggest fear is
poverty.
What makes me happy is…
“over here honey, you’re looking at it” What makes me happy is the simple
things in life. “like remodeling the bathroom that doesn’t need it.”
My most frequent emotion
is happiness.
The toughest thing about
being an adult is my face is getting wrinkly and I’m getting old and I hate it.
“Do you really?” Yea I do. “Oh, sweetheart you’re lovely. Why would you hate
it?”
The thing I like most
about being an adult is that I have money and you don’t.
What I like most about
myself? I like my sense of humor.
I believe I do have an
impact on the world and I try to make one everyday. I just try to make other
people’s life less miserable.
I don’t practice a
religion, but I was brought up a catholic and I think I probably have some
semblances of the good parts and I try to forget the bad parts.
I think family is
important, but I don’t believe family is a physical thing. I believe it is an
emotional thing. I believe you decide who your family is. I think the perfect
family is the one you decide to have and yes there is a perfect one you just
have to choose it.
I have never suffered from
discrimination. I have also never discriminated against someone. I have been a
bystander to bullying though, and I have stood up for someone being bullied. I
think bullying means people using their power without recourse. I don’t think
appearance matters.
I don’t think there
is any one person I respect the most, “Do you respect me?” I respect lots of
people and I usually respect them for what they are particularly good at. So I
would say there isn’t one person I respect the most.
You know, I have
always just wanted to be me. No I don’t want to be anybody else. I think I am at the point in my
life where I think I want to be me and that’s good enough.
I think one
of the biggest problems in the world is human beings naturally distrust anybody
who is not in their natural sphere of experience or influence and I think
that’s the worst thing is that we all fear each other and it’s really stupid,
Because we are all just the same.

Chapter 5: Technical
I used similar edits on both images. I cropped them both and I raised contrast on both. On the first image, I reduced saturation to make it grayscale.

Chapter 5: Influential
Photos by Michal Drzewicz. I like the contrast and the placement of people in these shots. I like how they are black and white. I would like to know if they are staged or not. The people are almost perfectly placed.

Chapter 4: Self Reflective
The original shot i took was from September (notice digital clock). I liked the layout of the shot and i wanted to revisit the location because i thought i could make it better. A major difference in the different images is the different type of light. The original shot was in the summer sunlight, the new shots were taken in the harsh winter light.
