Chapter 2: Influential, Self Reflective, Thematic

Step 1:

A social issue that directly affects me is the drought in California, which has been a major problem for the past few years. When I think of the drought I see low water levels, dead plants, and desolation. Water companies in California have started charging more for water, since we have a limited amount. People are asked to not water their lawns and take shorter showers.

Step 2:

The photos express a clear point of view to the effects of a drought. The photos have connections to the conceptual photography.

Step 3: Conceptual Photography

Step 4:

I will make a contact sheet with my finished work.

Chapter 3: Creative Technical

I like the detail in the clouds that this effect bring out in the images. HDR gives the images more depth.

Chapter 3: Influential Self Reflective Thematic

My passion project is about black and white images. I included some HDRs because i find them intriguing. All of the images show a theme of black and white (except the middle one) and contrast.

Boardwalk on the marshes at Alviso Marina County Park. In photoshop, I raised the contrast and decreased the brightness of the sky, as well as cropped the image.
