Chapter 6: Technical Creative

This is a panorama built of three individual photos in photoshop. The camera was on a tripod when I took the photos.

Chapter 6: Self Reflective Influential

Chapter 6: Thematic

I did two versions of branching out. The first is literally branches branching out,

The second one is branching out in a figurative way.

Here, we put my father in makeup represent branching out.

Here the photo is again, with a tighter crop.

Final Project Part 1

For my final project, I would like to take photographs using HDR, High Dynamic Range. I will take 3 pictures each at a different exposure and merge them together in Photoshop to make a final HDR image. I want to photograph HDRs because I like the effect that HDR gives my photos, like the higher contrast. It brings out elements of a scene that you can’t see when you look at it with your naked eye.

I plan on photographing cityscapes and landscapes using HDR and edited in Photoshop. I am aiming for 10 images turned in digitally on my blog with a short artist statement for each. I will also make a simple 5 minute powerpoint for presenting my project to the class, which will include all of the images.

The HDR assignment from earlier in the year has influenced me to continue to experiment with HDR. I will also find inspiration for HDR on flickr and other photo sharing websites.

Here are some HDR photographs that I took earlier in the year:

Portrait Project

Outdoor Portraits:

The day I took these outdoor portraits, it was cloudy with a little rain. Very even light, the perfect even lighting for portraits.

Studio Portraits:

I've never really taken portraits with studio lighting. I put the lights off to the sides and aimed them at Dylan's sides. I think these turned out pretty well.

Rembrandt Portraits:

This is my favorite type of light, I like how one side of the face is lit up and the other side is darker. I took these photos in the library by the big windows.
